Events & Grief Support Groups

Throughout the year, The Hospice of Baton Rouge offers a variety of meaningful opportunities to connect.

From educational workshops, grief support groups and community gatherings, our events cater to a wide range of interests and needs. Whether you're seeking to learn more about a specific topic, meet others in a supportive environment, or simply enjoy a fun activity, we provide events across the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Grief is a natural response to loss, and no one should have to navigate it alone. The Hospice of Baton Rouge offers compassionate grief support for children, teens, and adults through support groups, workshops, and special programs.

Camp Conquer KIDS: A Place to Heal and Conquer 🌱

Camp Conquer teaches children (ages 8-12) how to identify, express, and most importantly conquer their emotions through activities that take them through the grief process. Each day, children are broken up into separate age groups so counselors can provide specialized activities and guidance.

Because the camp runs solely on donations and volunteers it is free of charge for all children that attend. It is common for parents to keep up a strong front for children to help them through a loss, but in reality, it may be healthier and more effective to allow children to express their emotions freely in a way that promotes healing.

Location:
The Retreat at Quarters Lake
8890 Quarters Lake Rd. Baton Rouge, LA

Please note: Registration for this event is FULL for this year.

Camp Conquer: Teen 🌱🌱

Camp Conquer Teen Camp offers a safe, supportive environment where youth, ages 13 to 17, can share their experiences of loss and process their emotions with others who understand their feelings.

Participants are encouraged to talk openly about their grief while learning coping strategies and emotional resilience from both peers and facilitators. Through connection and shared experiences, Camp Conquer: Teen helps youth navigate their grief in a healthy, compassionate way while offering comfort and understanding throughout their journey.
